The work is part of the "SB" series, #32 of 100.
The concept for the series was born spontaneously, in February 2021. The images for these works are born from dreams with a powerful emotional charge that stays with me even after I wake up.
So far, 41 works have been drawn.
Twenty-three of these works have been sold.
Against a background of deep olive color, a grotesque character, devoid of personality and sex characteristics, is depicted. The only thing he expresses is physical discomfort, nervous tension, close to exhaustion. In a sense it is the idea of martyrdom, a classic theme of painting, executed in a mortal body.
