Tens of thousand of masterpieces from the National Galleries of Scotland are now available online

The National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) redeveloped their website and released their digital collection online. By doing so, the institution has jointed in a row of the world leading museums that open their collections to the public. Scotland’s art collection comprises of masterpieces by renowned artists including Botticelli, Titian, Turner, Matisse, Gauguin, Degas, Van Gogh, Magritte and others.

With the new features and wide functionality, it has never been easier to explore the NGS treasury.
From now on, internet users are free to download artworks images from the collection of the National



From now on, internet users are free to download artworks images from the collection of the National Galleries of Scotland that has over 96,000 objects at the disposal. New website has an intuitive interface and shows more than 40,000 high resolution images including all of the Collection’s most significant artworks. The images of the remainder will be available online over the next five years.

The National Galleries of Scotland has the artworks by Titian and Botticelli, drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, watercolors by William Turner, paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Rene Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Pablo Picasso and many others.

The website has a fully integrated Online Shop where you can buy art prints from the National Galleries of Scotland to decorate walls of your house or office. Here you can order more than 30,000 high-quality artwork images as art prints, canvas, and mini prints, with the option to frame and choice of frame colour.
In the Support section you can read how the public can be more involved with the galleries. You can learn about the various Friends memberships or to Donate to secure artworks for the nation. Visitors can get help in a neat and simple Visit section: there is an information for those who are unfamiliar with the location of the galleries and the respective facilities of each one.
