The Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum, one of the oldest museums in the Volga region, preserves the most valuable cultural heritage, which has all-Russian and world significance. The collection of the Art Museum began to take shape in 1895.

Over the past decades, a significant, peculiar collection has formed, which has more than eleven thousand exhibits. The museum funds contain unique collections of Russian and Western European paintings, sculptures, drawings of the 16th-20th centuries.

The annual audience of the museum and its branches is more than 145 thousand visitors, more than 2300 excursions are held for them, about 300 lectures are given, more than 45 stationary and traveling exhibitions are organized.
