Tambov Regional Museum of Local Lore, Tambov

Tambov Regional Museum of Local Lore is one of the oldest in Russia. It was founded in 1879 to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Tambov governorship.

The museum was founded by prominent scientists and public figures of Tambov: E.D. Naryshkin, I.I. Dubasov, A.V. Vysheslavtsev, S.V. Popov, S.N. Chicherin, L.A. Voeikov, Archimandrite Dimitry.
