Sergey
Gennadyevich Pronin

Russia • Moscow and Moscow Oblast • artist, art connoisseur
Born in 1979, in Saransk. During his school years, he worked at a construction site as a laborer and electrician during the summer seasons. Graduated from the Light Engineering Institute. In his second year, he got a job at the leading newspaper of the republic, as a designer-curator. This determined his further profession, after 4 years of work, having moved to Moscow, he began to work for himself (to this day) - in the sphere of design and advertising, illustrating and decorating. After the institute, having already published his own book on advertising design, he enrolled for a post-graduate course at the Philharmonic, and received a PhD in Sociology. In the course of his studies he published his second book and republished his first one in a Moscow publishing house, and began to be actively involved in the author's seminars.
I have never studied drawing, I am self-taught. Although I made my first carved figure at the age of 11, I did not start carving consciously until 2012, thanks to two carving friends, Alexey Kashin and Sergey Pivikov (and later Vladimir Alexandrovich Nesterov), for which I am immensely grateful, as they also gave me my first lessons and advice. Every year I become more and more passionate about art history, graphics and painting, sculpture (modeling and carving), architecture and furniture... all of which feed into one another. In 10 years in this mode, I've amassed a simply gigantic library of all my favorite mediums, and of course, what I manage, I absorb. It's my 25th anniversary in 2022, and I love the way the worlds of design and art enrich each other.
