Biography and information

Honored artist of Russia.

Born in 1932 in the Ryazan region. He graduated from the Moscow regional art school, then Moscow state art Institute named after V. I. Surikov (1963), majoring in graphics. At the faculty where his teachers were E. A. Kibrik, and M. V. Matorin, P. Rayner, S. Glushkov.

In the 1960s, in the period of fascination with linocut, Efremov creates a series of colored linocut "New Moscow", "North". The range of expressive linocuts it includes 3-4 colors for each cutting Board. Appeal to study oil, watercolor and tempera is associated with frequent trips around the country on the Kola Peninsula, the Dvina, Altai and Tuva. For twenty years the artist taught at the studios of Amateur art.

The works of Ephraim are in the State Tretyakov gallery, in art museums of Smolensk, Alma-ATA, Karaganda, and in numerous private international collections.
