Paul III (lat. Paulus PP III; in the world of Alessandro Farnese, Italian. Alessandro Farnese; 29 February 1468 — 10 November 1549) — Pope from 13 October 1534 to 10 November 1549.
Alessandro Farnese was born in 1468. Attended lectures of the humanist Pomponia Summer. At the age of 25 years, having Holy orders, was appointed by Pope Alexander VI cardinal and Bishop of three dioceses. His career, he was obliged sister, Julia Farnese, who was the lover of Pope Borgia. Julius II awarded Alessandro fourth, and Clement VII — the fifth bishopric. Cardinal Farnese had four children: three sons, recognized later by the papal Curia legitimate, and daughter Constance, who was given in marriage to the Duke Sforza of Milan. At 45 cardinal Farnese became a priest and engaged in political issues.
