Lebedev Alexander Ignatievich / St. Petersburg 1830 - St. Petersburg 04.16.1898 /.

Draftsman, watercolorist, engraver, illustrator; genre painter, cartoonist, portraitist. The son of a lieutenant colonel.
After graduating from the School of Topographers, he got the place of a surveyor-taximeter. Since 1849, a free-coming student of the IAH (in 1851-1853 studied with P.V. Basin). In 1857 he graduated from the Imperial Academy of Arts with the title of free artist.
Author of magazine cartoons (Veselchak, Iskra, Zanoza, Illustrated Newspaper, Bee, Krugozor, Niva, Shards, Dragonfly) and lithographed albums (Picnic, In all of you, darling, the outfits are good “,“ Dead, but nice creatures ”,“ Shchedrinsky types ”, etc.).
Illustrated the works of A. S. Pushkin, M. Yu. Lermontov, I. A. Krylov, A. N. Ostrovsky, N. V. Gogol, N. A. Nekrasov, M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin.
Member of the Partnership of Russian Illustrators, full member of the St. Petersburg collection of artists.
