Biography and information

Zaruhi Mkrtchyan was born in 1962 in Yerevan. From an early age, she showed outstanding musical abilities and an incredible interest in art in general. At the age of six, Zara began to professionally study music at the school for gifted children named after P.I. Tchaikovsky. In 1980, she entered the Yerevan State Conservatory in a faculty of a special piano. After completing her studies in 1985, she began active pedagogical and accompanist activities. In1997, Zaruhi Mkrtchyan had received the award as the best accompanist of the Republic and from the same year, she started working in the Yerevan Conservatory as an accompanist at the vocal faculty. Since 2003, she teaches at the Faculty of Accompanist Mastery. After the irretrievable loss of her beloved mother in 2013, she had left her job at the Conservatory and started drawing, professionally engaged in painting with Academician Lems Nersesyan. In 2015, her first exhibition was held under the name "Dedication to my Mother". Later, she repeatedly took part in exhibitions organized by the Artists 'Union of Armenia and in 2016 become an honorary member of the Artists' Union of Armenia.
