Born in the village. Polonne in Khmelnytskyi region.
From 1982 to 1986 he studied at the Kharkov engineering and construction Institute, faculty of architecture.
From 1987 to 1989 is a free listener of the Kharkov art College.
From 1989 to 1991 he studied in the Studio of people's artist of Ukraine A. M. of Constantinople.
In 1991 he entered the Kharkov art-industrial Institute in the Department of easel painting, which he graduated from in 2001.
Teaches at the Kharkiv Academy of design and arts at the Department of painting.
Member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine since 2005.
Mykola Derkach works in a creative workshop.
