He graduated in 1966 Riga secondary school of arts of J. Rozentals and in 1972, the Department of painting at Latvian Academy of arts with the thesis "Port" (under the guidance of E. Kalnins), and in 1997 he received a master's degree in art.
Since 1972 the artist worked as a teacher in podgotovitelno courses of the Latvian Academy of arts. Since 1995 he has been assistant in the Department of painting of the Latvian Academy of arts, since 1998 is lecturer in the Department of painting, and since 2000 – associate Professor, since 2004, is assotsiirovannaya of Professorsky.
I. Luse participated in exhibitions since 1974.
Her work has been exhibited in exhibitions in Latvia, Lithuania (1997, 1999, 2001), great Britain (1997), Germany (2001), Italy (2002) Turkey (2002), Holland (2002), Finland (2002), Sweden (2003,2005).
In China in the International Biennale (2005).
Personal exhibitions are organized in Riga in 1994, 1997, 1999.
Since 1974 she is a member of the Union of artists since 1994 – International artists Association "B13".
Her works are in many collections in Latvia and abroad.
