Master of religious and mythological painting of Fedor Semenovich Zavialov became a pupil of the Academy of arts at age 11. At age 16 he gets his first medal — small silver. In 1831 and 1832 — a large silver medal, 1833, for the painting "Hector accuses Paris of inaction in the presence of Helen" — a small gold medal and the title of class artist third degree. Until 1836 F. Zavialov remained at the Academy. In the same year for the program "Samson destroys the temple of the Philistines," the young artist receives a gold medal and leaving a pensioner of the Academy of arts for six years in Italy. In 1844, for the painting "Abbadona and angels" and "the Descent of Christ into hell" Zavyalov awarded the title of academician. In subsequent years, he participated in the design of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow, the Church of the Academy of arts, St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg, the other churches of St. Petersburg and its suburbs. For them, the painter executed works: Holy family, "Abraham and the three angels", "the Vision of king Constantine," "the appearance of the angel to Joshua" (1844-1848), "the entombment of Christ the Savior" (1853), "Marianne singing the song of God," "Sinaitic law," "Testament of Moses", "Holy Alexander Nevsky", "St. Paul" (early 1850s). In 1853 he was awarded the title of Professor. Among the executed by the artist of portraits of distinguished preserved for generations well-known sculptor, author of monument to Minin and Pozharsky on red square I. P. Martos (1833) and the famous painter K. P. Bryullov (1844). From 1844 to 1848 F. Zavyalov was an inspector and teacher of the Moscow school of painting and sculpture. Since 1855, passed on their skills to students in drawing classes of the Academy of arts.
