In 1918-1936 worked for the studios of Vienna, Prague, Paris, where he designed more than one hundred films. In 1936 he was invited to the USSR to work on the film "the peat Bog soldiers" (1938, with A. new people, new ideas). 1936 — the artist-Director to/St "Mosfilm".
