Over the last decade the artist has created several large-scale multipart works (polyptych). They are striking in their scale, a new form and unusual content. Each polyptych is a multi-value text, ironic and philosophical. After the exhibition in 2004, where Tokarev introduced some of his polyptych, the media dubbed him "the most intellectual and at the same time ironic artist of our time."
