Andreevich Shishkov

Student of the Moscow Stroganov school. In 1849, he began artistic work at a Moscow theater; in 1857 he was transferred to the service of the Imperial St. Petersburg. theatres for decorative painting. In 1869, the title of academician in decorative art; in 1876 the Council of the Academy, in the form of experience, appointed him to the Studio for the teaching of decorative art; in 1878, at the Academy opened a special class of decorative painting. In 1884, the day of the 35-th anniversary of artistic activity Shishkova, he was promoted to associate professors. (Kondakov)

[1832, Moscow, — 15(27).6.1897, Saint-sur-Mer, near Toulon], a Russian theater artist. Studied at the Stroganov school and theatrical decorator. Shenyang in Moscow. From 1852 he worked under the guidance of A. A. Roller in St. Petersburg. Academician of the Petersburg Academy of arts (1869), Professor (1884). Sh sought to introduce into Russian theater and decorative art, historic household confidence, which, however, often resulted in excessive naturalism, props. The best artworks Shishkova is the scenery for productions of "the death of Ivan the terrible" by A. Tolstoy (1867, the Alexandrinsky theatre, in collaboration with V. G. Schwartz and G. G. Gagarin), "Kuznets Vakula" by Tchaikovsky (1877, Mariinsky theatre, in conjunction with M. I. Bocharov).
