Born in the city of Kislovodsk (Stavropol Krai). Graduated from Krasnodar pedagogical College of art (1951), and then VGIK (1957). One of the founders of the Moldovan cinema, worked mostly in creative collaboration with art Director Aurelia Roman. Honored artist of the Moldavian SSR (1979).
