Russian and German painter. Born in St. Petersburg. He studied at St. Petersburg College St. Peter and Paul, 1867 – 1869 in St. Petersburg Academy of arts. In 1870 he moved to Munich and enrolled at the Academy. From 1879 he participated in the academic and international exhibitions. Author of landscapes, animal painting and genre compositions. He worked in technique of oil painting, specialized in the depiction of equestrian scenes. Represented in collections of the Pinakothek in Munich, the Bavarian national Museum in Munich, the National gallery in Prague.
