Francis Bacon: Later Paintings

Exhibition February 23 − May 25, 2020
At the exhibition "Francis Bacon: Later Paintings"about 40 paintings are presented, including many monumental triptychs of the artist, which are one of his most famous works.

This is the first museum exhibition to examine in detail Bacon’s later works, as well as the first review of Bacon’s paintings in the United States, starting with a centennial retrospective organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2009.

Francis Bacon is an English expressionist painter, master of figurative painting. The main theme of his work is the human body - distorted, elongated, enclosed in geometric shapes, on a background devoid of objects.
