American Art 1900-1950: The Evans Tibbs Collection

National Gallery of Art, Washington Presents Exhibition"American Art 1900-1950: The Evans-Tibbs Collection".

Visitors will see 32 paintings, as well as sculptures and drawings by African American artists from the first half of the 20th century.

A tireless art dealer, collector and producer, and the grandson of the opera star known as Madame Lillian Evanti, Tibbs acquired over 600 works of art in his short life. Part of the collection on display at the exhibition reveals the huge variety of styles and genres of American modernist artists.
