on February 2 at 15.00 in the Primorsky State Art Gallery (Partizansky avenue, 12) will open the exhibition based on the results of the international creative competition of graphic works "Drawing Manga". The audience will see about 60 graphic works in the style of four-frame traditional Japanese manga, revealing the essence of proverbs and sayings, the analogue of which is in both languages. According to the results of the contest which started in summer the works of 46 authors from Russia and 5 authors from Japan were chosen for the exposition. All graphic works are interesting in their own way and differ in technique, manner of performance and age of the authors.
In the summer of 2021 the children's museum center of the Primorye State Picture Gallery and the Administration of Tottori Prefecture announced the start of the international creative competition of graphic works "Drawing Manga". Students of art schools, studios and universities from Vladivostok and the city of Yonago (Japan) located in the western part of Tottori prefecture were invited to draw manga graphics in their usual technique. Since manga has long ago crossed all borders and barriers and has become a cultural phenomenon of global scale, the task of the contest was to give children and young people an opportunity to perform their manga and thus to join the culture of Japan.
No age restrictions.
Cost of admission: free of charge.
The exhibition will run until February 13.
