Lucas Cranach the Younger was born on 4 Oct 1515 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, in the family of a German painter and graphic artist of the Renaissance Lucas Cranach the Elder. His older brother Hans Cranach also became a painter. They worked together in the Studio from his father and were his disciples. Lucas the Younger inherited the workshop after his father's death. His works are mainly in portrait or mythical scenes.
