Born in the village Shevchenkovo, Zvenigorod rayon, Cherkasy oblast. In 1884-1889 he studied at Kyiv drawing school of M. Murashko. From 1889 to 1894 at the Academy of fine Arts. Received four silver medals: 1892 - two 2; 1893 - 1; 1894 - the title of class artist of the 3rd degree for the painting "meeting of the rays". Painted landscapes and portraits. From 1895 he taught painting and drawing at the Kyiv drawing school.
