A graduate of the Academy of Arts from 1776 To 1791 he received 2 silver medal and was retained as a pensioner of the Academy of Arts in 1794 - 2 gold medal and a diploma of 1 degree with the sword; in 1799 "entered correctension in landscape engraving class."
