"Son of a soldier picturesque Sciences L.-Guard Preobrazhensky regiment". A graduate of the Academy of Arts from 1764 till 1773 he Received medals: in 1771 - 2 silver; in 1773 - 1 silver; in the same year, released with the title of artist XIV class in painting "home exercises" and is defined at the Academy of fine Arts teacher. In 1774 dismissed from his post; in 1779 he was admitted to the Academy of fine Arts tutor; in 1817, retired from duty at the Academy. (Kondakov)
