About this painting, the artist said:
"I wanted to convey the vortex motion of the carousel, all the glitter of her farcical adornments, modesty and joy of the village girls, who first came to the city and bought myself a city update, all dressed up and for the first time sat on the wooden horses of the carousel..." Indeed, the carousel was always bright, bustling, dazzling heart of any fair or circus. Looking for work ant, I hear ringing girlish laughter, cries of barkers and merchants, see bright lights and smells of assorted fair food. These feelings cause even a thumbnail, which is stored in the National art Museum in Kiev.
The picture became debut work of Alexander Murashko presented at the International exhibition in Munich in 1909. For her, the artist was awarded a Gold medal, and the canvas from the exhibition went to the Royal gallery of Budapest.
