In 1937 graduated from the school and enters the VAC (all-Russian Academy of arts), faculty of painting and studies until June 1941, Karev has E. A., Stepashkin K. P., Ovchinnikova, L. M., and E. M. Cheptsov, Sokolovna-Mitin, Bernstein, M. Davydova, Priselkov, Ovsyannikova L. F. With the beginning of world war II goes to the front as a volunteer. In late 1942, demobilized from the army in connection with the wound. Since 1943, continued his studies at the WAH evacuated in Samarkand, Zagorsk and may 1944 in Leningrad. In 1946 graduated from the Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture. Ilya Repin (renamed CVC) by Alexander Osmerkin. Thesis painting Minin and Pozharsky (located in the Museum of arts of the USSR, Leningrad). Member of USSR Union of artists since 1946. Participant of exhibitions since 1940. He painted historical-political, military subjects, portraits, landscapes. The picture A. G. Gulyaev located in the Pavlodar art Museum, the Art Museum in Vladivostok, the Turkmen national gallery of art, the Museum of the revolution in Leningrad, the City Museum of the city of Baltiysk, the Museum of radio named after Popov, in the collection of the Art Fund of Russia, Ministry of culture, in Astronomical Academy in Leningrad. A. G. Gulyaev was awarded twelve government medals and orders. In the author's life was the works of A. G. Gulyaev are in high demand among Western collectors. During the life of the author of more than 200 works took their seats in the Western European and North American collections of paintings.
