Biography and information

The grandson of the sculptor P. K. Klodt. Born in the Oryol province, the estate, donated by the sculptor to his daughter Faith. He received his artistic education at the Moscow school of painting; his examination paper was awarded small and big silver medals, and the relief of "Taras Bulba" was awarded a gold medal. After graduating from College, he received the title of class artist of the sculpture and the rank of the 14th class (1892). The Board of Trustees of the College recognized A. K. Klodt (together with the sculptor S. T. Konenkov) best student for the five (1896) and sent to the pensioner's trip to Europe (1896-1897, Berlin, Dresden, Paris, Rome). On her return to Moscow she worked in a Factory of gold and silver items Faberge. Taught drawing and sculpture in PHU (1898-1922), conducted practical work for ceramics, sculpted decorative vases and pots, fulfilled orders for sculptural work. In the 1900s fulfilled stucco ornaments for the Peasant Bank, molded sculptures of horses at the Moscow Hippodrome, he participated in the creation of the Quadriga horses for the pediment of the Bolshoi theatre. Together with other teachers who hold the academic system of education was dismissed from the College as a representative of the "alien class" (1922). On the advice of former shaper of the College P. V. Seregina moved to live and work in castle (1922), where his involvement was cast the figure of the worker for the monument to the heroes who died for the revolution. Sculpture of a worker with a rifle replicated monuments in Zlatoust, Sochi, and Petrozavodsk, Sysert, Polevskoy and Tula (1923). A sculptor worked in a foundry Kasli plant (1923), where he performed for furnace doors more than a dozen new reliefs with contemporary ornamentation and Soviet symbols. Executed a portrait bust of V. I. Lenin (1923), statue of "Lenin" (1924), bas-relief portrait of Felix Dzerzhinsky (1926), a lighter Leg, cutting knife of books, "pioneer", pencil "Sport" and stand for the iron with Soviet symbols (all 1924-1927). Organized on Kaslinsky plant SMHL, where he taught drawing, sculpting and moulding, twenty young workers (1922-1923); taught sculpture and drawing at SFSU (1923-1925). With the reduction of the post of sculptor foundry (1925) K. A. Klodt was transferred to the technical Department of the plant.
