Do you love St. Petersburg as much as I do? This open-air museum, I just love walking through the streets of the central district, one building more beautiful than another!
The building of the Stieglitz Academy. The Stieglitz Academy building was built in the style of historicism, one of the directions of eclecticism, which is characterized by the combination in a single composition of features from different styles of the past. Mesmacher combined all Italian art, including Florence and Venice of the Renaissance, in this façade.
"Stieglitz Academy" painted in watercolor and liners on paper 30x40cm, framed in pasparto and in a wooden frame behind glass, ready for hanging.
It is part of the "St. Petersburg Sketches" series, which can be viewed in the collection
