Painter. Member of the Union of artists (1951).

In 1944 – 1950 studied at the Moscow art Institute. V. I. Surikov A. Osmerkina, H., Maximov, P. Kotova. From 1950 to 1953 he taught at the art school in Moscow. From 1950 he participated in many exhibitions, including exhibitions and sales of works of Russian artists in England, Poland, Austria, Germany, Holland, France. Participant of all-Union exhibitions in Moscow (1950, 1955).

Multi-faceted work of V. S. Zakharov traces the commitment to a thematic picture - genre, involving particularly thorough semantic and artistic elaboration. All this fully found expression in the genre paintings of the artist, in which he with great love and skill gave the images of his contemporaries, touching in its simplicity and sincerity.

The works of V. S. Zakharov rightfully occupy a place of honor in the collections of art museums of Barnaul, Cheboksary, Taganrog, Rostov-on-don, Yaroslavl, Krasnodar. His paintings are in many private collections in Russia and abroad.
