Terlikovsky

Born in 1873 under Lodz, died in Paris in 1951, was the son of a railway official, left the parents ' house, traveled, tried many professions, was in India, Australia, New Zealand, North Africa, England, France, Spain, Italy. Terlikowski was a self-taught artist, he studied only in Munich (ASP) and Lawrence in Paris (J. P. Laurens). Settled in Paris around 1911. He painted landscapes in Brittany, Venice, North Africa etc., portraits and still lifes. His painting characterize strong rich colors and rough texture of the brushstroke, the paints have been applied with a spatula. He created landscapes Ecole de Murol, preferred winter sport. Terlikowski debuted in a solo exhibition in a Parisian gallery Bernheim-Jeune (1900), and then exhibited there in 1913, 1916, 1917, 1929, a retrospective exhibition of his work was shown there in 1973. He participated in exhibitions at Galerie La Boitie (1920), Jean Charpentier (1927), Galerie Barreiro (1931), Salon Jesiennym (1912, 1913), as well as other collective exhibitions of Polish Diaspora in Paris and also in Warsaw, Posen and Brussels. Created wall paintings in the palaces Chenonceauh, La Motte, Montfort (Dordogne). His works are in the museums of Troyes, Bordeaux, Clermont-ferrand, Lyon, Marseiile, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Madagascar (Tennerife), in the collections of the Historical-literary society in Paris, as well as in numerous private collections in France.
