1. Register and select specialty

1.1. Recommendations

  • Provide your real personal data at registration - it will be easier for your acquaintances to find you.
  • Use a picture of yourself as a profile picture.
  • Indicate email and phone number that are currently in use. This will facilitate password restoration if necessary.
  • Confirm email address to be able to add artworks, comment and publish posts.
  • Indicate your status in the world of art (art lover, collector, artist, dealer or a gallery representative) and your preferences. This will help to not only find like-minded people, but get personalized recommendations from Arthive.

1.2. You must not

  • 1.2.1 Use expletive, obscene, or offensive words for user names.
  • 1.2.2 Upload violent or porn images as profile pictures of background photos, or use borrowed photographs without author's consent.
  • 1.2.3 Place ads on profile picture.

1.3. You can

  • Use nickname for a user name.
  • Have no profile picture or no background photo.

2. Publish posts

2.1. Recommendations

  • Break a long text into paragraphs for ease of reading.
  • Use subheadings if the text consists of several logical parts.
  • Provide titles to illustrations, videos or audios.
  • Capitalise and punctuate correctly.

2.2. You must not

  • 2.2.1 Use explicit, offensive, abusive, or derogatory language.
  • 2.2.2 Post abusive, pornographic or immoral photo, video or audio content.

2.3. You can

  • Express personal opinions, different from those of the editorial board or other users.

3. Commenting posts

3.1. Recommendations

  • Write grammatically correct.
  • Give reasons for criticism.

3.2. You must not

  • 3.2.1 Insult the author of the post and authors of comments.
  • 3.2.2 Violate rules 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
  • 3.2.3 Indulge in capitalisation and punctuation for emotional expression.

3.3. You can

  • Embed images in comments.
  • Report a comment to moderator.

4. Commenting artworks

4.1. Recommendations

  • Write grammatically correct.
  • Give reasons for criticism.

4.2. You must not

  • 4.2.1 Insult the author of the work and authors of comments.
  • 4.2.2 Violate rules 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
  • 4.2.3 Indulge in capitalisation and punctuation for emotional expression.

4.3. You can

  • Embed images in comments.
  • Report a comment to moderator.

5. Tag artworks

5.1. Recommendations

  • Use short, one or two-word tags.
  • Spell tag words correctly to avoid confusion.

5.2. You must not

  • 5.2.1 Use tags in violation of rule 2.2.1.
  • 5.2.2 Use words, not related to the subject of the artwork as tags.
  • 5.2.3 Use symbols other than letters and digits in tags.

5.3. You can

  • Use only upper or only lower case letters in tags.
  • Tag any artwork on site.

6. Reviewing exhibitions

6.1. Recommendations

  • Express your opinions in grammatically correct and consistent way.
  • Use photos of the exhibition as illustrations to your review.
  • Express personal opinions avoiding personalities.
  • Provide reasons for criticism.

6.2. You must not

  • 6.2.1 Violate rules 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.

6.3. You can

  • Express personal opinions, different from those of the editorial board or other users and exhibition viewers.
  • Report a review to moderator.

7. Posting comments

7.1. Recommendations

  • Write reviews upon completion of deals, as they influence reputation of sellers and buyers.
  • Share opinions on galleries, exhibitions and events you attended.

7.2. You must not

  • 7.2.1 Post reviews in violation of rules 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
  • 7.2.2 Allege unfair practices on the part of a bargainer without proof.

7.3. You can

  • Post reviews on Twitter and Instagram with hashtag of a gallery or exhibition.
  • Report a review to moderator.

8. Adding artworks

8.1. Recommendations

  • Download quality images in the highest resolution possible.
  • Add artwork in frames.
  • Indicate correct title, size and other information on the artwork.

8.2. You must not

  • 8.2.1 Download artworks that are already in the database.
  • 8.2.2 Add images with logos of other web resources.
  • 8.2.3 Download into the artist database artworks of other artists.
  • 8.2.4 Post images of violence, blood or nudity without «18+» rating mark.
  • 8.2.5 Use images in violation of copyright law.
  • 8.2.6 Download images not related to art.
  • 8.2.7 Download images which are not images of artwork.

8.3. You can

  • Add additional images.
  • Provide incomplete artwork data.
  • Report an image to moderator.

9. Creating collections

9.1. Recommendations

  • Give proper title to a collection.
  • Tell about the collection in description - it will make it more interesting for the viewers.

9.2. You must not

  • 9.2.1 Give title to the collection or describe collection in violation of rule 2.2.1.

9.3. You can

  • Limit access to your collection or selected image in this collection.
  • Delete a collection or any artwork from the collection.
  • Move artworks between collections.
  • Edit collection title and description.

10. Creating selections

10.1. Recommendations

  • Give selections proper titles.
  • Tell about the selection in description - it will make it more interesting for the viewers.

10.2. You must not

  • 10.2.1 Give title to the selection or describe selection in violation of rule 2.2.1.

10.3. You can

  • Edit selection title and description.
  • Delete selection.

11. Registro de pintores

11.1. Recommendations

  • Make sure the artist is not listed in the Arthive database.
  • Fill out all registration form fields.
  • Add portrait of an artist.
  • List as much information about the artist as possible.

11.2. You must not

  • 11.2.1 Add an artist who is already listed in Arthive database.
  • 11.2.2 Violate rule 2.2.1 when adding any information about the artist.
  • 11.2.3 Download as artist picture an image which is not a portrait of the artist, or violates rule 2.2.2.

11.3. You can

  • Leave optional fields empty.
  • Report an artist to moderator.

12. Registering a gallery

12.1. Recommendations

  • Carefully fill out gallery registration form fields.
  • Provide maximum information which can be useful to the viewers and help avoid confusion (correct address, mark on the map, working hours).
  • Download several quality photos of interior and exterior of the gallery.
  • Update exhibitions data regularly.

12.2. You must not

  • 12.2.1 Download artworks that are not on show.
  • 12.2.2 Provide confusing information on the gallery or exhibitions.

12.3. You can

  • Report a gallery to moderator.

13. Venta de las obras

13.1. Recommendations

  • Study and follow advice on preparing the artwork for sale.

13.2. You must not

  • 13.2.1 Indicate wrong information when putting the artwork on sale.
  • 13.2.2 Indicate invalid price.

13.3. You can

  • Change price before the deal is made.
  • Refuse the buyer without giving a reason.

Moderator can edit information about an artist and/or an artwork without prior consent of the user, who added an artist/artwork:

  • upon request from the author, who or whose work was added without his/her knowledge;
  • written incorrectly and/or with mistakes;
  • violating the rules of Arthive.

Moderator can delete comments, posts and pictures of users, violating the rules of Arthive.
In case of numerous instances of Arthive rules violation, moderator can delete the page or the user/artist/gallery.
Matters of debate can be reported to website administration via feedback form.
