A graduate of the Academy of Arts in 1789; in 1790 was appointed to the class of painting on enamel. Received medals: in 1791 - 2 silver; in 1794, 1 silver and 2 gold; in 1797 - 1 gold for the program "Noev Sacrifice"; at the same time received the diploma of 1 degree and a sword; in 1798 left at the Academy retired "for the greater in the arts of knowledge" and is determined to teach students drawing; in 1799, declared him the praise of the Council; in 1800, recognized as "designated"; in 1802, the title of academician for "miniature taken from life person". In 1803, assigned the position of adjunct Professor; in 1806 elected a Councilor of the Academy of Arts. (Kondakov)
