Was born in Moscow. In 1984 he graduated from Moscow State Art Institute. VI Surikov in the Studio DK Mochalskogo (thesis, "Peter the Great").

S. A. Kirillov, one of the leading historical painters of modern Russia. Widely known author brought the "Stepan Razin", "Princess Olga", "Ivan the terrible", "St. Sergius of Radonezh", "Dmitry Donskoy". The artworks are regularly published in the school history textbooks, scientific monographs on the history of Russia, historical fiction.

Since 1987 he has held 24 solo exhibitions in Moscow and other Russian cities.

Works are in State Tretyakov Gallery, art museums of Pereslavl, Bryansk, Alexandrov and other Russian cities.
