A graduate of the Academy of arts, the historical painter, graphic artist and teacher, he painted St. Petersburg for various magazines ("Niva", "North", "Picturesque review", "world illustration", "Yearbook of the Imperial theatres", etc.) Many of his drawings were dedicated to literary works; they, in particular, were illustrated books "Tambov Treasurer" by M. Lermontov and "the Death of Ivan Ilyich" L. N. Tolstoy. In 1900-ies Kozaczynski left St. Petersburg, and taught in the local drawing school in Elizavetgrad. His group scene from "Dead souls" composite is not quite organized and vague in the picturesque style, but has definite expression and social focus.
Born in the village of Hlodosy (near Novoukrainka in the Kyiv region) in the family priest. Studied painting at the St Petersburg Academy under I. Repin (1882 – 1887). Collaborated as an Illustrator with the leading publishing houses, made drawings for magazines "Niva", "North", "Picturesque review", etc. a Lot of drawings were devoted to literary works. Illustrated the poem "Tambov Treasurer" by M. Lermontov and the story "the Death of Ivan Ilyich" Tolstoy. In 1900 he was forced to leave St. Petersburg and settle in Elisavetgrad (now Kirovograd), where he ran drawing classes in Zemstvo real school (1906 – 1921). Trained a galaxy of talented artists, such as Alexander Osmerkin, A., Nurnberg, Z. Rybak and many others. In 1913, on the 1st Elisavetgrad art exhibition exhibited more than 20 works. He founded the city's first KG indoor Craft-literate school (now the House of science and technology). In 1921 he headed the art Department of the Elisavetgrad natural history Museum. Works are in private collections of Ukraine and Russia.
