Born in 1943 in Kalinin (Tver).

In 1974 he graduated from the art faculty of all-Union state Institute cinemato-graphy. Since 1982 member of the Union of artists of the USSR, since 1984 – member of the Union of cinematographers of the USSR.

The participant of many exhibitions in the USSR, Russia and abroad. Personal exhibition in the House of cinematographers (2006), in the Bulgarian cultural center (2004), in Central house of artists (2003, 2005, 2008), in the city Hall of Moscow (2005), the Council of the Federation (2005), the Government of the Russian Federation (2007), in the Moscow Kremlin. Artistic Director of 51 films, prize-winning films: "adventure of Science", "Remembering Mendeleev", "And happiness in your personal life." Author of books: "Art – what is it?" (1998), "Kill art" (2005).

1960. - graduated from high school. He studied at the physical faculty of Moscow State University. Worked in the research Institute of nuclear physics of Moscow state University.

1974. - graduated from the art faculty of VGIK

1982. - member of the USSR Union of Artists, participant of many exhibitions in the USSR, in Russia and abroad, including:

1984. - member of the Union of cinematographers of the USSR

1991. - Tokyo international fair of fine arts TIAS in Tokyo.

1991. - painting exhibition of artists in Seoul.

1991. - exhibition of works of artists of cinema of the USSR in London

1995. - the first exhibition of the International art Fund.

1998. - personal exhibition in Berlin

2003. - 2004. - personal exhibition in Moscow (Central house of artists) as art Director, he directed 46 films, including:

1979. - film "adventure of Science" - the main prize at the international festival of children's films in Bombay "Golden elephant"

1980. - the movie "Remembering Mendeleev" - prize for best popular science film at the all-Union film festival in Vilnius.

1980. - the motion picture "And happiness in his personal life" - special prize of the Academy of pedagogical Sciences at the all-Union film festival in Vilnius.

1998. - he published a book "Art - what is this?" which contains a brief account of the theoretical position of the author on the definition and purpose of art.

2001. - published a series of articles which raised some new themes: the potential use in the visual arts multiple images. Analysis of cubism and the oeuvre of Pablo Picasso. Detailed consideration of Kazimir Malevich. Analysis of conceptualism. The relationship between contemporary avant-garde and the prospects of human civilization.
