Born in the city of eagle.

Childhood years spent in the village of our lady (now Sverdlovsk R-n). He graduated from rural school. Since 1887 he worked in Moscow in a picturesque workshop, graduated from the Moscow school of painting, 1906 – St. Petersburg Academy of arts. In 1940 he was awarded the title of honored art worker of the RSFSR. String bass is the author of a series of portraits of prominent members of the civil war, a series of paintings on historical and revolutionary themes. Died 20 Sep 1945 in Moscow, is buried in the Novodevichy cemetery.
