Painter, graphic artist. He studied at the Kiev art. Uch-school in 1905-07 in St. Petersburg on PED. courses at the Academy of arts in 1920 in Somese. From 1909 participant of exhibitions. Later lived and worked in Moscow. A member of about tions "World of art" (1913-24), "Union of youth" (1913), "4 art" (1926-28). Portraits ("Girl with a bowl", 1923; "the Entrant from the village", 1950, etc.), genre scenes, landscapes, etc. Husband – sculptor A. Matveev.

Graduated from Kiev art school in 1905. 15 may 1907-28 Sep 1907 — pedagogical courses in the Academy of arts under F. E. Tsionglinskogo. From 1910 to 1919 he teaches painting at the school. In 1920 entered the Studio N. I. Altman in the State free art educational workshops. The member of artists Union since 1936. 1941 — evacuation in Samarkand. Since 1944 Zoya Yakovlevna and Alexander Terentyevich lived and worked in Moscow.
