In Nikolsk-Ussuriysky he came in 1906. Here he taught drawing in the handicraft and real schools, girls ' school, and from 1912 until the end of his life (he died in December 1921) were in the female Seminary. Along the way, he taught drawing at a Korean Seminary and was a teacher of the arts in local art school

from 1900 to 1906 he lived in Blagoveshchensk and worked perfect landscape painter and teacher G. V. Sheshunov (1866-1921), a disciple of I. I. Shishkin and A. I. Kuindzhi. He was a volunteer at the Academy of fine arts, where in 1895 was eliminated due to lack of livelihood. In 1906 Sheshunov moved to Nikolsk-Ussuri, where the end of life taught in high school and school. A favorite theme of his paintings – the Ussuri taiga in different time of year.

The best paintings of the artist are characterized by: soft lyricism, accurate drawing, interesting composition. After the death of V. G. Sheshunova all his legacy: hundreds of paintings, sketches, drawings, watercolors – was transferred to the far Eastern art Museum in Khabarovsk.
