B. in D. Shulinka Kurskiy district. The desire to paint manifested itself from 5 years of age. First teacher and mentor was his father. He studied first at Yamskogo primary school, and then in the Kursk district. While studying in the second grade, began to redraw from photos portraits of their teachers, without departing from the likeness, gave them artistry, delicacy of chiaroscuro. Sh. in 1895 he entered the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, where good progress was soon released from tuition fees. In 1901 he graduated from College, receiving a medal and the title of the artist, and then came to Kursk, where he lived for about two years. In 1905 sh enters the St. Petersburg Academy of arts and at almost the same time receives from the Moscow school notice that for the work of "Naked woman" was awarded a scholarship for foreign travel. He went to Italy, where for years acquainted with the works of the great artists of the past, it works. After returning from Italy, he continued his studies at the Academy. His thesis - "the Sorrow of Orpheus" received the highest rating and pension trip abroad. In 1907 - 1910 he is working on a monument to I. S. Nikitin Voronezh. At the competition in Saint-Petersburg 23 Dec 1908 his model got 2nd place, but it took the Voronezh city Council. In 1910 W. was busy in Saint-Petersburg casting the monument in bronze. In 1911 - 1913 sh lived in Kursk, was a member of the Association of Kurdish artists, participated in exhibitions, worked on new sculptures, painted. In November 1913 he went to France, lived for some time in Paris, where he completed the sculpture "Sappho," for which the Academy of arts of Russia sent him another of the annual amount of money to continue improving skills. The first world war found him in Paris. He was evacuated to Biarritz, then about six years living in Spain, then returned to France to Biarritz, where he passed the rest of his life sculpture. Here he worked hard, freelanced for the wealthiest Americans, the British, the Belgians. Interesting were his sculptures: "Head of an old Basque", "the Bust of the Marquise by F.".

In the Russian Academy of Arts, you can see his sculptures: "the old Man", "Man like St. Peter", "the Young man in despair." In 1958, he received a Soviet passport, was about to return Home, but died suddenly.
