[R. 1(13).6.1891, s. Nikolaevka Kursk province, now Sumy oblast of the Ukrainian SSR], a Soviet art historian, knowed and bibliophile, a member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1946), honored artist of the RSFSR (1947). He studied at Moscow University (1909-13). He taught at Moscow state University (1916-31 and 1942-50; Professor, 1925), the Moscow polygraphic Institute (1938-64). Worked at the Museum of fine arts. A. Sidorov Alexey Pushkin (1916-21 and 1927-36). Works Sidorov Aleksey Alekseevich cover a wide range of problems of culture and art. Basic research Sidorov Alexey devoted to drawing, art books and bibliology. Brought the gift of the government gathered a large collection of drawings by Russian and foreign artists. Awarded the order of Lenin, 2 other orders and medals.
