Petrovich Shestakov (Erchemen)

Originally from Megino-Kangalassky district. After graduation worked as a teacher, was elected Chairman of the collective farm, later taught at the Yakutsk pedagogical College. In 1965 he graduated from the Literary Institute. A. M. Gorky. Worked as a senior lecturer of the Yakut language and literature as a kid. Published since 1950 Wrote not only novels, poetry, and literary-critical articles, which dealt with the problematic issues of development of Yakut literature. In 1957-1986, he taught courses in native art school of the Yakut epos "Olonkho" for students of decorative odelene. Very painfully reacted to the events in the fine arts with active energy passed on their wealth of knowledge on the Yakut epic. Students with great interest awaited his original lectures. Awarded the Honorary diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Yakut ASSR, a member of the Union of writers of the USSR since 1970.
