Lovis Corinth. Life, a holiday!

Exposición 18 de junio − 3 de octubre 2021
The Upper Belvedere Gallery, Vienna holds an exhibition "Lovis Corinth. Life, a holiday!"

The exhibition will present the work of one of the most prominent and influential representatives of German Impressionism and Modernism, Lovis Corinth (1858-1925).

Corinth is one of the founders of the Munich Secession and together with Walter Leistikov and Max Liebermann became a leading figure and the first chairman of the Berlin Secession. His artwork is like a leap into the modern era. Beginning in the 19th century, he dealt with all the great "isms" of the following decades--from Realism to Impressionism to Expressionism--but never fully committed himself to any of them. Over the centuries, the recognizable pictorial language of his paintings was shaped by his irrepressible vitality.

Prepared according to the materials of the website Upper Belvedere Galleries, Vienna.
