The State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia invites you to visit an exhibition
"Memories of Childhood".
The exhibition features paintings that evoke pleasant nostalgia in the older generation and introduce young people to the life of the Soviet generation.
Our memory is selective: most often we remember only the good things we took with us into adulthood. We remember pioneer times (P. I. Kotov "Pioneers of the East"), vacation in a pioneer camp - with rulers, hikes, sports competitions (I. I. Mashkov "Pioneer Camp in the Crimea", B. E. Vladimirsky "In Pioneer Camps"), his first childhood crush (N. A. Kasatkin "To study" ("Pioneer girl with books"). And also - vacations at his grandmother's in the village, with the first horseback riding (S. N. Isaev, "Timoshkino") and the evening tea drinking from old teacups. Grandma's currant jam is still my favorite (E. S. Zernova "Bread with jam"). It was interesting in the winter, too. How much fun to go sledding with buddies from the snow slide (Y. L. Grigoriev "Outskirts of Suzdal")! And how beautiful and festive it was in the Park of Culture and Recreation - in those distant times when "mother is young and father is alive" (K. A. Vyalov "In the Central Park of Culture and Recreation").
