The State Russian Museum and the Vologda State Art Museum-Reserve present an exhibition
"Lace of the Big Country".
The Russian Museum has one of the largest lace collections in Russia, which is of great value for its composition, history of formation and artistic significance. The exhibition in Vologda will present 86 items from the four thousandth collection of lace in the Russian Museum. Some exhibits will be seen by the audience for the first time - they have never left the museum's collections before.
The names of lace collectors are impressive: the exhibition features works from the collections of N.L. Shabelskaya, F.M. Plyushkin, S.A. Davydova - the first researcher of domestic lace. In the exposition are works, created in the famous centers of lacemaking of XVIII - XX centuries.
