Boston Museum of Fine Arts presents exhibition
"Paper Stories: layered dreams. The Art of Ecua Holmes.".
The exhibit includes more than 40 original works by Ecua Holmes: vivid collages revealing stories of self-determination, love and community that reflect the artist's distinctive vision.
In a time of considerable diversity in children's literature, Holmes and her artistic vision have become part of the vital changes that the publishing industry of the current generation has undergone. Daring to defy norms and push boundaries, new literary and visual narratives are being created for all children to explore and see themselves. Created under the influence of the artist's life experiences, family connections, and friendships, Holmes' work is an invitation for all to see the world in a new way.
