The Vologda Regional Picture Gallery (VOG) holds the most large-scale exhibition of works of Russian People's Artist for the last 10 years
Jannah Tutunjan "Jannah".
The current exhibition was opened 10 years after Tutunjan's death and simultaneously to her anniversary - on September 22 she would be 90. Now the citizens of Vologda will be able to see the fullest picture of Dzhanna Tadjatovna's work during a month and a half. The exposition takes two floors and is built on a principle defined in the art by Tutunjan himself: "I want to compare myself with a tree: graphics is my roots, painting is my crown". Therefore, the first floor features her graphic works, and the second - her pictorial canvases. Creators of the exhibition have arranged parity to "roots" and "crown" and in quantitative relation: from 100 works presented in an exhibition, 50 - graphic and 50 - picturesque.
Those who are only remotely acquainted with Tutunjan's works, who have seen them in Internet projects, in booklets and books, will be struck by the monumental scale of some works, which make one stand in awe and stare at the smallest details. Certainly, the central image of the exhibition, as well as the entire creative work of Janna Tujatovna, is that of a woman - a mother, a heroine, a toiler. When asked how she would draw happiness, Tutunjan replied that it is in the form of motherhood. The exhibition organizers are confident that even those who are familiar with Tutunjan's work will discover new facets of her talent at this exhibition, and look at familiar works from a different perspective.
