The Manezh Central Exhibition Hall presents a large-scale project
"Peace and Joy.".
The exhibition features 150 works by over 100 Russian artists (including Vladimir Borovikovsky and Vasily Tropinin, Silvestr Shchedrin and Orest Kiprensky, Fyodor Tolstoy and Karl Bryullov, Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi, Mikhail Nesterov and Viktor Borisov-Musatov) from the collections of 39 leading Russian and foreign museums.
The works of Russian artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries reflect images that return memory to the traditions of the past, without focusing on its social and political problems. "The exhibition 'Rest and Joy' is an idyllic narrative about art that has not entered an era of total transformation" - Semyon Mikhailovsky, curator.
