Lviv National Gallery of Art named after B.G. Voznitsky presents a new exhibition location
"Museum of Modernism.".
A retrospective of works by artists of the Ukrainian historical avant-garde and high modernism from 1914 to the present day is presented in seven halls. A separate section is devoted to the work of a unique contemporary stage designer and existentialist artist Yevgeny Lysyk in the 1960s and 1980s.
The exhibition visualizes the worldview of modernism: from the first early modernist experiments in the wake of technological progress to refined examples of the aesthetics of late structuralism, with its emphasis on reinterpreting ancient cultures and cosmogonism.
