An exhibition opened at the British Museum "Female Power. From Deity to Demon".
The exhibit brought together works of art, sculpture, and sacred objects, from the ancient world to the present day, created and coming from six continents.
The exhibition highlights the many faces of female power - fierce, beautiful, creative or possessed - and its seismic influence through time. The project explores the important role that goddesses, demons, witches, spirits and saints have played and continue to play in shaping our understanding of the world.
