In 1888-1893 he studied at the Stroganov school in M. Vassiliev and S. Shchegolev, finished the course with honors. In 1890 - Samagistro volunteer Grenadier regiment. In 1898, according to the results of the national contest of the art industry received the 2nd prize in the printed case. Worked on Trekhgornij manufactory and factory Tindale in Moscow. From 1900 a member of the education Committee of the Stroganov school, sevadal printed workshop. Collaborated in the Imperial Moscow archaeological Institute. In 1918 participated in the 46th exhibition of the Association of traveling art exhibitions. In 1923-1930 he taught at the textile Department of the VKhUTEMAS-Vhuteina. 1945 - honored worker of science of the RSFSR, head of the Department of art history at the Moscow higher art-industrial school. Was in charge of the Handicraft Museum of the Supreme economic Council. In 1964 in MVHPU held his solo exhibition. Commander of the order of the red banner of Labor.
